What JSON Toolkit is

JSON Toolkit is a desktop-first JSON/JSONC workbench. It pairs a rich editor with an instant tree preview, formatting tools, and handy developer tools so you can validate, explore, and manipulate JSON quickly. Everything runs locally; there is no remote processing.

• Me - I built this tool to help with my own daily JSON tasks as a developer and technical writer. Features like diff comparison, anonymization, and escape/unescape are born from real needs I regularly encounter.

Core capabilities at a glance

• JSONC-friendly editing: Supports comments and trailing commas by default; In-editor markers jump you to the exact parse error and provide rich validation error details.
• One-click cleanup: Beautify and Minify use native JSON stringify logic, preserving selections and cursor when possible.
• Live tree view: A right-hand panel renders your JSON structure once it parses, with expand/collapse controls and a safe wrapper for root primitives.
• Anonymize to new window: Replace values with realistic fake data (preserve or link keys, fuzz numbers, optional seeding) and open the result side-by-side.
• Diff mode: Launch a dedicated diff view with independent validation on each side.
• Escape/Unescape helpers: Convert between raw JSON and a single escaped JSON string for pasting into code or logs.
• Multi-window: Have multiple independent windows open to compare, edit, or just keep different payloads around.
